My family has been using this whistle since I was born (1946) and we still use it today - frequently!
The sound is quite unique and readily distinguishable.
When I was in Portland Oregon, last summer, I told the people there about my Caswell whistle from Wiltshire, and they said they had one too! We compared them, and ' THEY WERE THE SAME! Our families branched off over 200 years ago, with no contact that we know of, so this old whistle has bee handed down for at least 200 years!
